The fishery sector is also another important sector indispensable for socio-economic development of the country.

SAF deals with Fish hatcheries, Fish farming, Fishfeed and Fish Processing methods inlarge scale. 

Presently, SAF concentrates to provide enormous opportunites to Youth in NorthEastern Region in India as The North Eastern States have enormous untapped potential for fisheries in terms of rivers, streams, floodplain, wetlands, lakes, ponds and large areas under rice fish culture system. North East India is considered as one of the hot spots of freshwater fish diversity in the world. This region is ideal for inland and freshwater pisciculture. Much has to be done to make the region self-sufficient in this sector.  Initiative for taking up fishery on commercial lines, on varieties such as carp fish, cat fish, tilapia, mud crab, scampi from respective State governments for proper maintenance and management of water bodies and rivers, revamping of fishery extension service, etc are the need of the hour.
